Ukraine: Barley harvest has reached 513,000 metric tonnes

According to operative data, as of July 4 Ukrainian farmers harvested barley from 240,000 hectares (5 percent of the forecast area) and obtained 513,000 tonnes of the grain. The yield has averaged 2.28 tonnes per hectare.

As of the same date last year the farmers harvested barley from 4 percent of the area and collected 447,000 tonnes of the grain. The yield at the start of last year's harvested was significantly ahead of this year's one - 2.74 tonnes per hectare.
